Taiwanese act CHTHONIC — the first-ever Asian extreme metal act invited to tour with Ozzfest — has been tapped to support the legendary CRADLE OF FILTH at four intimate September shows. These will be the final concerts of the band's first North American tour, and the conclusion of the first leg of their "UNlimited Tour".
"It's our pleasure to tour with CRADLE OF FILTH," says vocalist Freddy Lim. "They are one of the bands who inspired us to write this kind of music."
CHTHONIC (pronounced "THON-ick") took a detour from Ozzfest last week in order to travel to Germany, where the group performed at Wacken Open Air, the country's largest annual heavy metal festival. They rejoined Ozzfest in St. Louis on Aug. 6, the first in a stretch of 25 shows in 25 days that also includes a dozen "off-fest" shows alongside NILE.
The "UNlimited Tour" continues with another dozen concerts in September — including a New York performance supporting KATATONIA — before coming to an end alongside CRADLE OF FILTH, who will then embark on the second "Viva La Bands" tour.
CHTHONIC, whose 2002 album "Relentless Recurrence" and last year's "A Decade On The Throne" live DVD/2CD set were recently released in America for the first time, plans to tour Europe for the first time this fall.
CHTHONIC supporting CRADLE OF FILTH:
Sep. 19 - Le Capitole Theatre - Quebec City, QC Sep. 20 - Metropolis - Montreal, QC Sep. 21 - Webster Theatre - Hartford, CT Sep. 22 - Higher Ground - Burlington, VT Banda do Tawain, se bem que eles parecem chineses hehe, esse Ozzyfest deve ter cada doido com sua mania.

CRADLE OF FILTH Vocalist Records Theme Song For DARIO ARGENTO's Latest Horror Epic - Aug. 10, 2007 Grammy-nominated, British shock rockers CRADLE OF FILTH have delved towards a new level of darkness. Vocalist Dani Filth recently recorded vocals for the theme song to Dario Argento's latest horror/suspense opus "Mother of Tears: The Third Mother". The song, entitled "(She's) The Mother of Tears" was composed by Claudio Simonetti. Simonetti, a veritable legend among horror film scores, is also noted for penning music to such classics as "Dawn of the Dead", "Suspiria", "Phenomena" and several episodes of the popular series "Masters of Horror".
Says Dani Filth on his experience working on the film, "It was a real honor to be asked to work alongside Claudio Simonetti from Goblin, especially as it's the last of a trilogy for a Dario Argento movie. The whole project has been very exciting to say the least. I received word that my services were being demanded of and I was especially delighted to have been given free reign with the vocals, both musically and lyrically, preserving the lush choir that forms the backbone of the chorus. The result is a four-minute homage to the last and most dangerous in a trio of powerful witches whose aim is to enslave the world. Having finished the song (which is intended for the film's credits), I am now tense with anticipation for seeing the how the two work together... the film apparently rocks!"
"Mother of Tears: The Third Mother" concludes Argento's cult trilogy that began with "Suspiria" (1977) and "Inferno" (1980) and revolves around the resurrection of demonic witches in Rome. The film stars Asia Argento ("Land of the Dead"), Udo Kier ("Grindhouse", Rob Zombie's "Halloween"), and Cristian Solimeno ("Footballers' Wives") and is slated for a late autumn worldwide release. It is rumored that this film may also be the last directorial outing for Dario Argento, whose horror career has spanned almost forty years and included such cult films as "Deep Red", "Demons" and "Tenebrae". This experience continues CRADLE OF FILTH's growing trend of offering dark music to films and making the films rather darker. The band's previous soundtrack credits include "Underworld: Evolution", "Alone In The Dark", "Resident Evil: Apocalypse", "Ginger Snaps", and "Faust".
CRADLE OF FILTH is also spreading the darkness over North America this autumn as they are confirmed to headline Bam Margera's Viva La Bands 2007 North American Tour, presented by Rockstar Energy Drink. CRADLE OF FILTH is touring alongside some of Bam Margera's other favorite acts, including CKY and up-and-comers VAINS OF JENNA.
Says the band's outspoken frontman Dani Filth, "The Viva La Bands tour promises to be a great musical outing for CRADLE, mixing it up with a very eclectic bunch of bands. Bam is a good friend of ours, and when we heard that he was putting together a tour that would hit all the major markets in America, we just jumped at the chance to be a part of his lunatic vision. Where CKY supply the heavy melodic groove, CRADLE OF FILTH as headliners will give the American audience the proverbial kick in the bollocks they so rightly deserve. Fall will never be the same again! Viva the damned!"
CRADLE OF FILTH is known for its singular stage show and is matched only by its indomitable, dark, heavy, "gothic romance" rock music, which has been brilliantly displayed on the latest Roadrunner Records release "Thornography". The album, which firmly planted itself on the Billboard Top 100 chart upon its release shocked and awed America, as Entertainment Weekly deemed it "excellent" and "gruesomely themed." "Thornography"'s brooding energy was accentuated by guest vocals by goth rock hero Ville Vallo of HIM and Doug Bradley (Pinhead of the "Hellraiser" film series and longtime CRADLE OF FILTH collaborator). A special edition of "Thornography", featuring brand new music and video footage is currently in the works for an early October release.
Chegou a sair aquele edição especial do damnation and a day que tanto se falava?

“Eu nem mesmo consigo lembrar da primeira vez que assisti 'A New Hope' (em português o primeiro filme da série lançado, chamado apenas 'Star Wars') ou 'The Empire Strikes Back' (em português, 'O Império Contra Ataca'). Eu cresci conhecendo eles.”

CRADLE OF FILTH bassist Dave Pybus has issued the following update:
"So, here we are, on the eve of the second U.S. tour for 'Thornography'! Just back from Sunday morning rehearsals (no church for us) with a slight headache due to last nights drinking session with keyboardist Rosie. This time it's a little bit different to a straight ahead CRADLE OF FILTH headlining tour. Viva La Bands is obviously Bam Margera's crazy idea, but we like Bam, so we expect only the best in chaos to come. Good mix of bands as well. The addition of VIKING SKULL made me smile as I met them a few years back. It will be fun to meet them again, this time for some serious drinking sessions.
"Just wanted to mention something about the tour set list. Got a pretty cool mix of old and new tracks. Like two songs off every CRADLE album. The set won't be as long as we'd like it (like two hours, yeah) so we've decided to alternate sets to keep us on our toes. Added the new song 'Foetus...' which is the track we chose for the second video from 'Thornography'. You should be able to see that soon. 'Temptation' has been dropped from the set this time. Added 'Twisted Nail Of Faith', 'Principle Of Evil Made Flesh', 'Tortured Soul Asylum', among others. Going for some pretty cool songs that we've played in the past. It's a hard decision sometimes to get a fair mix but we feel happy with what we went with.
"OK, I'd better get on with packing. NFL season started and I'm looking forward to seeing a lot more games on TV than is possible in the UK. Find me in a local bar near the venue on Sundays, crying into my beer as my team (the Redskins) get their asses kicked."
